Everyone keep calm… but Laneway Festival has just dropped an absolutely stacked 2027 line-up, and there’s plenty in there for the LGBTQIA folk.

The headliners for next year’s festival are Paramore singer and queer icon [EDITOR NOTE: We will not be taking feedback on this description – I and every other emo queer spent our teen years wanting her to be our wife] Hayley Williams and Irish rock band, Fontaines D.C.

They are going to be joined by Slayyyter, Kim Petras, Adela, and Australian dance/electronic artist, Ninajirarchi – and sooooo many more.

A Reddit user called the line-up full of “pop-head faves” – personally, I couldn’t agree with that assessment more.

St Jerome’s Laneway festival is going to be held in Sydney on 12 February, Brisbane on 13 February, Melbourne on 19 February, and in Auckland, New Zealand on 21 February.

This year, Laneway has sadly removed Perth and Adelaide from the festival tour. This is the first time in 20 years, with Laneway citing financial and logistical reasons. However, the festival has announced sideshows for these cities from Fontaines D.C., Jane Remover, and Tiffany Day.

Starting as a block party in 2004, over the last 20 years, Laneway has become one of the most anticipated festivals of the year.

Is Laneway festival Australia’s Queer-chella?

While we don’t have Coachella down here, we do seem to be getting a Queer-chella in the form of Laneway.

Since so many of next year’s line-up are gay icons, queers themselves, or staunch allies, it is impossible to not feel pride in seeing so much success and talent being rewarded by mainstream festivals.

Hayley Williams has long been an outspoken ally of the LGBTQIA+ community – while opening for Taylor Swift’s, Eras Tour in 2024, she sung ‘happy pride’ (to the tune of happy birthday) to her crowd in Dublin. Talented, beautiful, and prideful, what’s not to love?

This will also be Williams first time touring Australia and New Zealand as a solo act.

Slayyyter, the bisexual pop sensation behind bangers like ‘CRANK‘ is returning to Australia. With her concerts in August 2026 selling out, Australians obviously cannot get enough of her. Kiwis too will soon not be able to get enough, as Slayyyter is to perform in New Zealand for the first time.

Kim Petras is returning to Australia and her mainstream success as an openly transgender woman has been a big inspiration for many. In 2023, she was the first transgender woman to win a Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance alongside Sam Smith for their hit song, ‘Unholy‘.

Other queer performers include Jane Remover and MUNA.

With so many queer icons, stars, and allies performing at the 2027 Laneway festival, getting tickets is going to get bloody. Queers be fighting for their lives out here.

Tickets go on presale Wednesday 7th October. Sign up for the presale here.
