The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2

It’s the epic conclusion to The Hunger Games trilogy. Fast-paced and action-packed, Mockingjay Part 2 is an enjoyable film that will captivate and entertain the audience.

The film follows Katniss Everdeen’s dangerous mission to liberate the citizens of a war-torn Panem, and to attempt to assassinate President Snow. All the while, Katniss must make difficult moral decisions, and struggles with her feelings surrounding the infamous love triangle. The drama of her internal battles, teamed with the explosive surrounding warzone, builds up for an exciting and moving final showdown.

Backed by an all-star cast, Jennifer Lawrence is a luminous presence who brings a real sense of raw emotion and unpredictability, highlighting the erratic behaviour of her character. Her performance and portrayal of Katniss is fantastic, leaving the audience to feel as if they are in Panem with her.

As an avid reader of The Hunger Games series, I can honestly say that my 15-year-old self was satisfied by the film adaptation.  Mockingjay Part 2 remained faithful to its literary counterpart, which for many fans will be a huge positive. Overall, it is an entertaining film that adequately concludes the series. (NB)
