The Fall Guy is an action comedy loosely based on the 1980’s television hit series by the same and has finally crashed into cinemas!

Filmed in Sydney, the story centres on Colt Seavers, a stuntman who is working on his ex-girlfriend’s movie. He’s asked to locate the male star of the movie who has gone missing, as cancellation looms over the project if he’s not found.

During his investigations, Colt is involved in a conspiracy surrounding the lead actor and is ultimately branded the bad guy by law enforcers once he’s framed for murder.

Will the missing actor be located, and can Colt prove his innocence? In the process, can he regain the affections of a beautiful young woman whom he continued to love long after their relationship came to an end?

Ryan Gosling plays the role of Colt Seavers and is supported by Emily Blunt as his love interest. Gosling is enjoyable to watch and seems quite comfortable performing in the comedic scenes. His participation in the movie will allure female moviegoers whilst the male viewers should be captivated simply watching the endless adrenalin charged car chases, crashes, and the incredible stunt work.

Aptly described as average silly fun, audiences should have a good time picking out all the local landmarks in the movie which include the Harbour Bridge, the harbour tunnel, Hyde Park and naturally the Opera House, where a major battle scene was filmed right at the steps.

Moviegoers will marvel at all the explosive octane charged action sequences filmed on the streets of Sydney’s CBD and wonder how all this action was captured on film with little or no permanent damage to the surroundings, notably in the incredible action-packed finale.

There are several cameos from actors who appeared in the tv series including Lee Majors and Heather Thomas.

The Fall Guy is a love letter to stunt work and is also unashamedly a postcard of Sydney to the world that should result in elevated tourism to this country.

Last word: leave your intellect at the cinema door and you’ll find this movie quite amusing and entertaining.
