
The iconic Japanese book retailer Books Kinokuniya, is set to open a new bookstore in Westfield Chatswood. The Chatswood store will host an opening event on Thursday 9th April.
The Chatswood location will be the first time the chain has opened a new location in Australia since their original store opened in Neutral Bay in 1996. In 2002, they relocated to their current home at The Galeries in the heart of Sydney CBD.
Kinokuniya is the largest bookstore chain in Japan, with more than 140 stores worldwide, and is known for the immense size of its bookshops. For more than 10 years, its store in Singapore, was the largest bookshop in South East Asia. Along with stocking a large array of local and international books, and a large stationary section, Kinokuniya has capitalised on the popularity of Japanese popular culture by stocking both English and Japaneselanguage books and manga, as well as other Japanese TV, film and gaming-related merchandise.

To celebrate the opening, Kinokuniya Chatswood will host a Grand Opening Event on Thursday, 9 April from 10am, featuring giveaways and special promotions for visitors.
