The original cast returns for the fourth go-round of the Fast and Furious franchise. You don’t need the background, but just in case: Vin Diesel is renegade street racer Dom Toretto, on the run with his girl Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). Back in LA, lawman Brian O’Connor (Paul Walker), is trying to infiltrate a gang of Mexican drug runners. When tragedy brings Dom home, the unlikely duo team up to take on a shared enemy. It’s a movie from which everything unnecessary has been removed, leaving only the essentials: two hours of relentless car racing sequences, flinty-eyed drivers, machismo, and beautiful bodies – muscle cars, imports and women. Shakespeare it ain’t, but hey, sex, cars and parties have always been a winning formula. As Vin says, ‘I’m a boy who appreciates a fine body – regardless of the make.’
