ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT

For five days, Cockatoo Island will be transformed into a dynamic, cultural hub, showcasing the latest in cinema from around the world.

From October 24-28, film buffs, directors and celebrities will converge on the little island in Sydney’s Harbour for the inaugural Cockatoo Island Film Festival. Every night, patrons will be able to experience red carpet galas, glamorous parties, the classic yacht race, as well as a bunch of live acts.

American hip hop group Arrested Development will be kicking off on the Outdoor Arena Stage on Thursday, October 25.

Todd Thomas, aka Speech, says he is excited to be returning to our shores.

“Australia’s been a big part of our career and over the years the people of Australia have showed their dedication to us and their devotion to our music.”

A big film buff, Speech directed the latest video for Arrested Development’s Living, which has since won two film festival awards.

“I love film… I’ve gotten the bug.”

Celebrating their 20th anniversary since their first album release, Arrested Development will be showcasing their new album, Standing at the Crossroads along with familiar classics on night.

Joining Arrested Development at the Cockatoo Island Film Festival is a mixture of Australian musicians such as Bluejuice, Jinja Safari and Matt Corby.
