After a spectacular debut at Melbourne Fringe Festival last year, Worship Queer Collective will bring their Don’t Cha Wish You Yum Cha? drag and dine extravaganza to Marrickville’s Red Rattler Theatre as part of Sydney WorldPride.

Combining tantalising Asian performance with delicious vegan delicacies, Don’t Cha Wish You Yum Cha? is a show for all the senses.

“[The show] was developed during COVID lockdown (when everything felt impossible to put on!) but we were finally able to produce DCWYYC? with the support of The Red Rattler Theatre and Auntie Wombat, a Queer and Asian owned startup catering company from the community,” says Dyan Tai, curator and host of the event and founder of Worship Queer Collective. “Our Sydney premiere in April 2022 was a huge success because our audience was quick to realise that it was more than just a dining event… people felt validated, it was a big celebration of their queer and cultural identity… there was so much love and even tears of joy at the event.”
