Way Out Experiences help Orang-utans

Australian company Way Out Experiences (WOX) has joined the fight to protect endangered Borneo orang-utans with their four to 28 day programmes.

The tours, which start at $600 including food, accommodation and activities, assist in the rehabilitation of orang-utans and the reforestation of their vital habitat.

The organisation is in its 5th hectare of reforestation of natural habitat in Sabah, Borneo that was once palm oil plantation. The productive reforestation aims to create a “corridor of life” for the orang-utans and other dependent wildlife.

The Australian office of Way Out Experiences was set up in January of this year. Founder Megan Davidson said the every client takes something different from the experience.

“This productive reforestation allows a ‘corridor of life’ for the orang-utans and other dependent wildlife,” she said.

“It is so satisfying to see the animals use the forest we have planted over the last six years.”
