TRAPTURE

TRAPTURE

Sometimes you want to see a nice, calm, safe bit of theatre. You’re just in one of those moods, and you’d like a little bit of culture for your evening’s activity, but no shock value. Well, in that case, this is definitely not the play for you. Trapture is the newest offering from the Tamarama Rock Surfers, who’ve been bringing Sydney cutting edge theatre for 14 years now, and are certainly not slowing down anytime soon. Trapture is a story of a relationship being dissected and realised physically in a psychosexual dreamscape. An experiential creation from the minds of the contemporary performance company, Sands Through The Hour Glass, who bleed notions of theatre into performance art. The production’s season at the Old Fitzroy Theatre follows its win of the Sydney Morning Herald’s Most Thrilling Theatrical Event in 2010. So if what you’re after is an experience of the unusual, and the visually explosive; if you head to the theatre to explore your subconscious and leave normality behind, Trapture will certainly be for you.
