SYDNEY FRINGE: APPLELOFT

SYDNEY FRINGE: APPLELOFT

There is more to the Sydney Fringe than burlesque and cabaret. PACT Theatre has given their space over to the most promising emerging performance artists. Applespiel, a collective of recent Wollongong University Performance graduates are bringing their highly successful performance night Appleloft out of the lounge room to you. Not so much variety night, “Too many connotations” says Rachel Roberts of Applespiel, this savvy bunch will present a succinct array of group and solo performances linked with a delightful durational thematic and “More rehearsal than [they] normally do.” While the nine members of Applespiel are, “All trained as actors and can sing”, they are not interested in acting but rather, “It’s us being us and performing something of us”. Appleloft makes you comfortable, it involves you lovingly, and this time it is suitable for grandparents … “Almost.”
