STORYTELLING

STORYTELLING

There’s something delicious about being let into a library after hours. You half want to sneak around stealing books, half want to rollerskate down the aisles. But the bigger part of you just wants to prolong the experience so you talk yourself into doing neither. Good thing too, because the Surry Hills Library has thrown open its doors every Thursday eve in April and May, and this week is the last instalment – for now. If we all behave like adults, maybe we can convince them to stay on. This week there’s some serious shadows-on-cave-walls type stuff, with Storytelling brought to you by the Campfire Collective. Daniel Moore will spill on his attempt to join an all-girl’s Physie team, dog watcher Jen Wong reads between the lines of being a longtime bookshop employee, while Tropfest Best Actress winner Kate Worsley takes us through a tale of five for-real weirdos, plus more to be announced. They’ll kindly supply the stories – you just have to bring your best behaviour. (AB)
