RUSSIAN ROCK’N’ROLL BURLESQUE CIRCUS
Rock bands, hat jugglers, burlesque dancers, cabaret performers and countless fancy costumes – these are some of the raging acts that have come a long way for the delightful Donnamatrix. What started out as her attempt to support a friend’s illness has become a raging theatrical performance – a kaleidoscope of creativity that she describes as a celebration of life.
“It’s like a rock concert crossed with this burlesque cabaret performance. There is a real emotional rollercoaster ride feel to it. It’s not all just full-on screaming either – there are some captivating beautiful dancers, there’s classical, there’s a bit of everything.”
The elaborate performance will feature such acts as Ruby Wild, Edwina Blush, Mischa Arnold, Paloma Negra, up-and-coming rock band Smoking Silver, and hat-juggler Mr Gorskey. Incredibly, the act organically came together in just seven weeks, and today Donnamatrix hopes to continue raising money for causes in her friend’s name.
“I want the audience to walk away with a big smile on their face, feeling like they’ve just witnessed something really special. Just something so that they know they were happy to be there at that moment in time.”
