OF MONSTERS AND MEN – MY HEAD IS AN ANIMAL

The Icelandic sextet create big, colourful sounds in their debut album My Head Is An Animal. Pairings of trumpet and violin answer a choruses of voices and the fresh tinker of a glockenspiel peers through the reedy bellows of a piano accordion. Their hit single ‘Little Talks’ is infectiously bright, bursting with a ska-inspiried horn riff, and jangling drum rhythms. (EB)
