Netflix Has Launched An Immersive Squid Game Experience in Sydney

Prepare for a thrilling, one-of-a-kind experience launching tomorrow as Squid Game fever sweeps through Sydney. Starting Saturday, December 14, 2024, fans of the global Netflix sensation can immerse themselves in the terrifying world of Squid Game: The Experience at Luna Park Sydney.
In the lead-up to the immersive experience, the city was treated to an unsettling spectacle on Thursday, when more than 300 red-suited guards paraded through Sydney, escorting none other than the iconic Young-hee, the eerie doll from the show’s legendary Red Light, Green Light game — along the harbour.
Squid Game quickly captivated audiences worldwide with its blend of violence, emotion, and dark humour, striking a chord with viewers everywhere. The series offers a brutal commentary on the harsh realities of poverty and inequality, reflecting struggles many people face in their own lives.
This gripping, high-stakes drama shot to number one in 90 countries within just 10 days of its release on Netflix in 2021, including Australia.
Now, Sydney is inviting fans to step into the deadly world of Squid Game with the immersive experience at Luna Park.
John Hughes, CEO of Luna Park Sydney, said in a statement: “We’re thrilled to be bringing the world of Squid Game to Luna Park Sydney, designed and produced by world-class creatives based in Sydney.”
“This partnership with Netflix further cements our direction to be a globally renowned destination for experiences that create escapism, wonder and joy. We can’t wait for Sydneysiders to see Squid Game: The Experience during what we’re anticipating to be our biggest Summer on record,” he added.

Squid Game: The Experience
Squid Game: The Experience lets visitors assess their nerve and skills in the ultimate thrill ahead of the show’s season two’s premiere on Netflix this Boxing Day.
Opening just in time for the summer, the experience at Luna Park Sydney challenges fans to survive Red Light, Green Light, the intense marbles game, Ddakji (the traditional Korean tile-flipping game), and the nerve-wracking glass bridge.
Fans are invited to dive into the immersive experience with the tagline: “Fight to come out on top, but remember the game shows no mercy.”
Players can participate individually or in groups of up to 25, tackling increasingly difficult challenges as they progress and earning points along the way. Unlike the series, however, if you’re eliminated from a game, you can continue participating in the remaining challenges.
In addition to the iconic games from the South Korean show, the experiences also features a post-game night market, serving a variety of Korean snacks courtesy of SOUL Dining.
Visitors can also shop an exclusive range of merchandise including clothing and collectibles. Are you ready to play?
Squid Game: The Experience opens at Luna Park Sydney, 1 Olympic Drive, Milsons Point, starting tomorrow. Tickets can be purchased here, with prices ranging from $44-$52 (inc GST) for General Admission to $69-$76 (inc GST) for VIP access.
Squid Game season two will be available to stream on Netflix from Thursday, December 26, 2024.
