This October labour Day long weekend, a trio of Inner West Sydney party brands, Heaps Normal, Heaps Gay, and Bad Friday, have teamed up to host Sydney’s largest three-day festival, Marrickville Block Weekender. For three big days, Railway Parade will transform into a vibrant block party extravaganza, catering to all tastes with live music, DJs, performers, queer party vibes, and moto-lifestyle.

To kick off the festival and the celebration of their 10th birthday, Sydney-based queer party makers, Heaps Gay, are hosting their Heaps Gay Street Party. Prepare for an action-packed day of excitement next to the Marrickville train lines. Heaps Gay Street Party will boast a dynamic blend of house, pop, nu disco live music across two stages, featuring artists BIG WETT, Billy Davis, Tseba, and more. In addition, expect to see a ‘sprinkling of drag’ and colourful roaming performers for good measure.

The festivities continue on day two of the three-day festival, as the team who gave us Bad Friday unveil their newest must-see event, Off The Rails, on Sunday, October 1, an inaugural punk festival boasting a bold array of hard rock, punk, and indie live music line-up, with Amyl & the Sniffers and the Mark of Cain headlining.

Bad Friday will roll out the long weekend party with Throttle Roll, revving up the excitement throughout Monday. Since its first event in 2013, Throttle Roll has built a reputation among the Australian motorcyclist community, celebrating the lively culture of the moto-lifestyle.

Throttle Roll guarantees a day filled with wild custom bike displays and live rock n roll bands. Plenty of fuel to keep your human engines going, too.
