JORDIE LANE – NOT BUILT TO LAST

Jordie Lane’s new five-track EP Not Built to Last was recorded in the US and the country music influence of Uncle Sam is clearly pulling on Lane’s folk roots.

However, a closer inspection of this offering from the “guitar wielding, hat wearing, beard sporting, love song singing troubadour” highlights the beguiling, smooth vocals that prove he has the goods to stand the test of time.

Steady percussion moves the tracks along at an amble as Lane deftly plucks the strings and lulls the listener into his lilting lyrical journey.

Five tracks is the perfect length for the style, any more would become repetitive. (LL)
