Inner West To Receive 190 New Bus Trips To Complement New Metro
The NSW government is set to introduce 190 new bus services for the 413 and 418 routes, to complement the South-West Metro opening on Friday 30 October.
The 413 service, which operates between Campsie and the Sydney CBD, via Summer Hill, Lewisham, Annandale, and Broadway, will receive an extra 173 trips per week.
While peak hour 413 buses will continue to run every 15 minutes, off-peak buses will now run every 20 minutes instead of every 30 minutes.
Route 418, which operates between Burwood and Sydenham, via Ashfield, Summer Hill, Hurlstone Park, Dulwich Hill, and Marrickville, will receive an extra 17 trips each week.
The NSW government expects communities around and in the Inner West to benefit greatly.
“The Metro has transformed Sydney, and the way we travel across this city. Extra buses and longer operating hours, which work hand in hand with the Metro – is hugely beneficial for Sydneysiders,” Minister for Transport, John Graham, said in the NSW Government press release.
A Fix For The “Notoriously Unreliable” 413, Says Local MP
“For too long, Ashbury, Summer Hill and Campsie residents have had to put up with the notoriously unreliable 413 bus,” Member for Summer Hill, Jo Haylen, said.
“Thanks to the hundreds of locals that have loudly and consistently asked for a better service, we are adding more 413 services, improving frequency and lengthening the hours of operation.
“This is great news for our community because more buses, more often means that more people can choose to leave their cars at home and catch public transport – and everyone wins from that!,” she said.
When Is The South-West Metro Going To Open?
These new routes have been designed to connect with the South-West Metro, officially opening on Friday 30 October following extended delays, with the 413 connecting to the Metro in Campsie and the 418 connecting to the Metro in Sydenham and Hurlstone Park.
