Independent media converge in Sydney

Publishers from across Australia are meeting at the TAP Gallery in Darlinghurst this weekend to attend The National Association of Independent publishers (NAIP) meeting, hosted by the Alternative Media Group, the publishers of The City News.

In May, meetings were held in Melbourne and Port Macquarie to begin the process of establishing a national association. Publications represented ranged from as far north as Warrick (Qld), west to Coonamble (NSW), and south to Canberra and Torquay (VIC).

Types of publications include paid for and free newspapers, weeklies, monthlies and seasonals. A number of publishers had mutliple mastheads. The minimum average pages was 16 and the maximum over 100 pages. For further information about the event, visit www.naip.com.au.
