Bernie Dieter’s spectacular Kabarett returns to Sydney

By HOPE PRATT
After a two year wait, Bernie Dieter’s Club Kabarett is coming back to Sydney for a season in the Sydney Spiegeltent. Join the worldwide phenomenon for a saucy and dazzling showcase that blends circus, drag, and cabaret.
Bernie Dieter and her band, The Vier, will transport audiences to the Berlin Underground as they perform new original songs infused with comedy and theatrics, as well as bold covers from classic artists of yesterday and today.

Originally from Köln, Germany, but based in Melbourne, Dieter has performance and rebellion in her blood. In pre-World War II Germany, her family owned a circus and put on shows near the Frankfurt-Poland Border.
Post-war, Dieter’s grandmother fled the East German regime after circuses were deemed a degenerate art. She escaped to West Germany in the back of a caravan, hidden under sequinned costumes. Dieter shares the same daring flare and boldness, incorporating it into every aspect of her show.

Coming off sell-out seasons across the globe, Bernie Dieter’s Club Kabarett promises to set Sydney ablaze with riotous evenings of camp sublime that dares to push the boundaries of the senses. Accompanied by an array of artists from around the world — from fire-breathers to hair hanging, aerials to contortionists — the show is not for the faint of heart but will surely leave you breathless.
Dieter’s last Sydney season sold out fast, so be sure to grab tickets ASAP for a night you’ll never forget!
