How to Host a Séance with Kevin Costner is a journey into theatre, the spirit world and mentalism.

Artist Jane Grimley describes it as “a collection of true curious stories and demonstrations”. These involve a dog, a love letter and a miner in a manner which she won’t divulge, but “nearly all the tales are love stories, most of them are true and nearly all have a happy ending”.

The performance also obviously features a séance.

The Grimley family has a history with the supernatural and Grimley’s grandmother was a clairvoyant who enjoyed giving her grandchildren mouldy cupcakes.

In this show, the artist is collaborating with illusionist and magician Vincent Parfitt. The combination will undoubtedly be unique and visually arresting.

Cryptically Grimley says, “My dearest thought is hoping people feel confident enough in their own beliefs to challenge and question them and to be seriously playful with Kevin Costner”.

It‘s destined to be a show of unpredictable spirit at the Sydney Fringe Festival. (LR)
