HOW I LIVE NOW

HOW I LIVE NOW

Daisy (Saoirse Ronan), a wilful American teenager, is sent to spend summer with her English cousins on a rural property. Just as she begins to revel in their pastoral existence, they are suddenly caught up in a violent military state as war breaks out in contemporary Britain.

Forcibly separated from her male cousins and relocated to a labour camp in the north, Daisy must channel her hitherto misdirected willpower to help her and her young cousin, Piper, escape. Together they must survive the perilous and terrifying journey home, not knowing what they will find when they get there.

Kevin Macdonald directs a beautifully told story of a violent future, whilst the young cast, led by Irish actress Ronan, is superb. (CC)
