Gluten Free Expo 2008

Gluten Free Expo 2008

Originally designed for those with coeliac disease, but now appealing to health conscious consumers everywhere, the Gluten Free Expo returns to the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park on August 22 and 23.

The free expo offers new options for cooking, snacking and entertaining: gluten-free cakes, breads, biscuits and pizza bases, sauces, marinades and dukkha, crushed peanut candy, guava paste, chocolate-coated figs and Portuguese mousse (in four flavours).

Now in its fourth year, this family expo has grown since its inception in 2005, attracting 10,000 people last year.

In Australia there are over 250,000 suffers of coeliac disease and it is estimated that 1 in 100 people nationally suffer from the disease. With many still undiagnosed, the increasing numbers have fuelled the availability of gluten free products on the market.
