Seeing two screen legends on stage is a pretty special experience. And screen legends don’t come much bigger than Angela Lansbury and James Earl Jones, in Sydney to perform Alfred Uhry’s Pulitzer Prize-winning work Driving Miss Daisy.

The play tells the story of an unlikely friendship between an elderly matriarch and her chauffeur – a friendship that grows and strengthens over three decades against a backdrop of major social and political change in the US. Watching Lansbury and Jones on stage is incredibly moving and awe-inspiring, and while their age certainly shows, it only adds to the charm of their performance. Joined on stage by Tony Award-winner Boyd Gains, the trio have left audiences laughing, crying and clapping on Broadway, in the West End, and are now here to delight us.

Until Mar 31, Theatre Royal, 108 King St, Sydney, $119.90-149.90, ticketmaster.com.au
