COMING TOGETHER

COMING TOGETHER

Boomalli Gallery’s Coming Together exhibition is an interesting collection of artworks inspired by Amnesty International’s Homeland campaign.  Contributing artists are Eora College students studying Certificate 3 and 4 of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts Course.  The collection illustrates the student’s concerns with issues such as social exclusion and cultural identity. They range from the powerful works of Graham Toomey to the more colourful Butterfly Dreaming by Dean Bell.  Opening night was sponsored by Amnesty International’s Demand Dignity campaign which seeks to draw attention to the rights of Indigenous and Aboriginal people in Australia. Proceeds from sales go directly to the artists.
