CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG

CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is about as good as it gets for wholesome feel good family musical entertainment without the cheese. A musical score by the Sherman Brothers with memorable classics like Truly Scrumptious, Hushabye Mountain and the Oscar nominated title song, adults and children alike love the fantasy and skullduggery … not to mention the magical car.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is of course the famous flying vintage car convertible, restored by the eccentric, brilliant , widowed English inventor Caractacus Potts played by David Hobson. Chitty has interactive voice control technology – now that seemed pretty fantasmagorical back in the 60s but is nowadays a passé mod con.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang cost almost 1.2 million to make back in 2002 when the show launched inLondonand holds the Guiness World Record for the most expensive prop ever. Stunning effects are suitably spectacular fitting with this world class theatre blockbuster production with some sinister Gothic imagery in fictitious land Vulgaria.
