BLOOD MOON

BLOOD MOON

Last year a new theatre company was founded that will hopefully path the way for audiences to discover new, exciting works. Unpathed Theatre Company will focus on provocative stories that expose truths and the human condition.

“[Provocative plays] demand a reaction from the audience and encourage conversations, debates and opinions,” explains co-founder Victoria Beck. “They often bring to light certain issues in society which you might not have actively considered before.”

Beck also stars as 19-year-old Manya in their debut play, Blood Moon. Based on a true story and written by successful New York writer Nicholas Kazan, this three-hander explores themes of power, rape and revenge.

“The dialogue is fast and witty but completely human and full of clues,” she says.  Beck also describes the dark drama as haunting and calculated and says she hopes audiences take away a better understanding of the consequences of trauma. “This story will highlight the personal question of, ‘how would I find justice?’”

“Often the most unbelievable stories are the ones that are true. If somebody has the courage to tell their story, then we need the courage to put it on the stage.”
