BEAUTY! FAME! GLAMOUR!

Brenda Trolloppe is celebrating her birthday with a lotto ticket and a delivered pizza. It might sound like an average night but it turns out she is lotto’s big winner. Her next stop is a one-way trip to becoming a Las Vegas showgirl.

Writer and star of the show, Brent Thorpe, says his drag alter ego was partly inspired by Tom Eyen plays. “I thought ‘I could write something like that – what’s the craziest story I could think of.’ This is what came out,” he explains.

Thorpe performs alongside Brandon Lees who plays Nathan from the Shire, a Pizza Hut delivery boy. Brenda takes him to Vegas as an erotic male dancer in her show, Australia the Musical. “They have this incredible affair that goes pear-shaped and turns ugly. A lot of skeletons leap out of the closet,” he says.

This is not the first time Brenda and Brandon have appeared onstage. Last year this riotous romp was staged at the Roxbury with the boys in jeans, T-shirts and lipstick. “We are dressing it right up,” Thorpe continues. “We’ve got mad costumes and mad make-up so it’s much more theatrical and over the top. It becomes a different animal when you do this. We’re having a great time and I can’t wait to get it in front of an audience.”
