AXIS OF AWESOME
The Axis of Awesome describe themselves as the world’s most awesomest comedy band. I can’t imagine that this is a highly disputed title, but the fact is that their latest show, Songs in the Key of Awesome, has earned five-star reviews in its sold out premiere season at international comedy festivals around the world.
Putting together a bizarre concoction of, “Pure rock comedy” (aka romedy), their three man act is hitting the Opera House as part of Summer at the House. The Awesome trio warn that their act is, “Definitely not high art, or Opera” – so don’t come if that’s what you’re expecting.
What you’re guaranteed instead is love songs, dance songs and futuristic-post-electro-rock-funk-fusion songs, along with laughter and plenty of hilarity. With their Four Chord Song officially considered the highest rated comedy video of all time on YouTube, receiving over 20 million hits, the live act certainly promises to deliver.
