All About Women Festival Returns With Stacked 2025 Lineup
Coming back for its thirteenth edition with a huge lineup, the All About Women festival is returning for 2025 at the Sydney Opera House and online on March 5th, 8th and 9th.
This year’s All About Women festival, which will coincide with the International Women’s Day weekend, will bring together over 50 artists from Australia and across the world to celebrate women with events both in-person and online.
Featuring prominent Australian women like Whadjuk Noonger journalist Narelda Jacobs OAM, Grace Tame and Geraldine Brooks, the festival is set to provide a huge range of talks, performances and activities that’ll discuss a wide range of topics.
All About Women program highlights
Here are some of the most exciting events from the festival’s huge program this year:
- State of emergency – A panel on the Australian crisis of violence against women, who it affects and how this violence has evolved in the 21st century. Features journalist Jess Hill, family violence expert Kyllie Cripps, eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant, human rights advocate Zahra al Hilaly, equality advocate Jamila Rizvi and Rosie Batty AO.
- A conversation with Rachel House – Narelda Jacobs sits down with Aotearoa New Zealand actress and filmmaker Rachel House (Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Heartbreak High) on the importance of telling Māori stories and paving the way in the industry
- Kara Swisher’s X Files – American journalist Kara Swisher is respected and feared throughout Silicon Valley in equal measure, having interviewed every prominent CEO of a tech company. Now she’s coming to Sydney’s City Recital Hall to dish out some unrestricted analysis on the way that technology affects our daily lives, and what it means for the future.
- Kate Berlant – Emmy-award winning actress Kate Berlant is set to debut a fresh hour of standup at the All About Women festival in her Australian debut. Following the acclaim of her one-woman-show Kate, see why Berlant has been described as a “magnetic improvisational comic” by critics.
Additionally, the Opera House will have a free exhibition on the Western Broadwalk titled The lipstick effect, pairing the words of previous All About Women alumni with Australian female photographers.
All About Women 2025 runs on Wednesday March 5th, Saturday March 8th and Sunday March 9th. Tickets are $35 to attend in person, or $15 for events with livestreams. Find the full program of events here.
