It’s Time To Cast Your Vote For The 2026 DIVA Awards

Voting is officially live for the 2026 Drag Industry Variety Awards – better known as the DIVAs. Recognised as one of Sydney’s most glamorous and queerest nights of the year, the DIVAs have been honouring the best of Sydney’s drag and nightlife since 1991.

Individuals can now cast their votes for the 2026 DIVA awards via the Star Observer website, with voting to remain open until 12pm 24 September 2026.

Categories include Sydney’s most popular Pub Event, Venue, Drag Show, Drag Performer, Drag Host, Male Performer, DJ, and of course, Drag King.

Whether you’re a Beresford basic, a Kinselas stan, or “Imperial’s vibes are better” is the hill you’ll be dying on, queers of all persuasions are welcome to attend the ceremony.

To be held at the Wintle Theatre, The Juniors, Kingsford on 28 September, all who walk the DIVAs catwalk that night will discover which of Sydney’s 2026 LGBTQ+ nightlife queens are crowned.

DIVA Award Ceremony To Be Hosted By VYBE

Not only that, but this year’s ceremony will welcome Australian drag performer VYBE,  of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under season four fame, as the DIVAs compère. VYBE was named DIVA Rising Star in 2023, and now she will return three years later to honour a new cohort of nightlife icons.

Of course, DIVA nominee or not, the dress code is glamour. We’re dead serious about the catwalk, which is open to all attendees. And, if it just so happens your strut down that red carpet catches the eye of DIVAs fittingly cat-eyed judges, you may just find yourself selected as a finalist in the prestigious Belle of the Ball award.
