WORK OF ART: REMOTE ABORIGINAL ART CENTRES

WORK OF ART: REMOTE ABORIGINAL ART CENTRES

From Melville Island to the Kimberley, Yuendumu to Elcho Island, Tali Gallery’s Work of Art heads to a satellite of remote Aboriginal art communities for a unique and honest snapshot of the world’s oldest living continuous culture. This exhibition, held as part of the behemoth photographic festival that is Head On, illustrates how essential art practices are to the integrity of these communities; their tradition and sense of place. With Reconciliation Week imminent, there’s no better time to connect – join the daily guided tours at 11.30am and 3.30pm, or catch a screening of My Generation on May 24 at 6.30pm. (AB)

Until May 27, Tali Gallery, 667 Darling St, Rozelle, 9555 6555, taligallery.com.au
