Now in its third year, annual City of Villages Art Exhibition and Prize is once again open for entries, with a total of $3000 in prize money on offer.
Artists are being encouraged to creatively recreate any aspect of “village” life in the City of Sydney area as a painting, print, or drawing.
Ten of the competition finalists will be displayed across 30 street furniture sites in the City, including JCDecaux bus stops signs, for three weeks from July 15 – August 4.
The finalists artworks will also be exhibited at the Pine Street Creative Arts Centre.
Judges include S.H. Ervin Gallery director Jane Watters, senior curator at the Art Gallery of NSW, Deborah Edwards, and renowned Sydney artist Lindy Lee.
Entries close at 5pm on Wednesday June 4.
