THEATRE: SILVER
Matthew Whittet has created a unique piece of theatre in his one man play Silver. He sits on a chair in a theatre cut in half for more intimacy, and tells a modern tale inspired by the Brothers Grimm with a conversational turn of phrase, and a relaxed but commanding voice that gives the feeling that you are listening to a story from a friend about their weekend. This is theatre stripped right back to its bones, not for people who want to see a spectacle. Whittet doesn’t wear a costume, relying on the strength of the words to transport you. This is a rare and beautiful performance not to be missed by those who love an intimate honest theatre experience, or who love a good story.
