One of Sydney’s most premier commercial venues, the Theatre Royal resides in the very centre of Sydney’s CBD. Notorious for hosting a variety of entertainment including plays, dance, comedies, and musicals. Accoladed for their productions of The King and I, The Rocky Horror Picture Show and War Horse.

The theatre has been providing a range of entertainment since the 1960’s, before it was closed in 2019 for the handover of ownership to Trafalgar Entertainment. In late 2021 the theatre reopened boasting architect Scott Craver’s luxurious modern restoration that acknowledges the rich architectural past.

Theatre Royal Interior

Originally built by in 1976 by architect Harry Seidler, the original grand foyer still stands, but refurbished and now housing hanging instillation art by sculptor Charles Perry, transforming the iconic venue into a state-of-the-art centre for live entertainment.

The theatre is collaborating with world class producers and production teams in the entertainment industry to establish an exciting, innovative, and diverse number of productions to contribute to Sydney’s performing arts scene.
