THEATRE: NEW DIRECTIONS

THEATRE: NEW DIRECTIONS

It’s that time of year again when the New Theatre gathers together a collection of the most diverse and exciting contemporary plays around for its New Directions season.

New Directions offers Sydney theatregoers the chance to experience five original plays across four weeks. Showcasing some of the best talent in the business, this year’s culturally-rich bill features: the world premiere of Ben Ellis’ Horrific Acts for Charity, a satirical and thought-provoking piece on altruism; Noëlle Janaczewska’s award-winning Mrs Petrov’s Shoe, a hilarious tale of multiculturalism and literary scandals; Dorota Maslowska’s A Couple of Poor, Polish-Speaking Romanians; Kathleen Cantarella’s Victor and Sass; and Edgar Chïas’ On Insomnia and Midnight.

July 22–August 15. New Theatre, 542 King Street, Newtown, $22 or Season Pass: $70, 1300306776 or www.mca-tix.com.au
