THE UMBILICAL BROS: A KIDS SHOW

Shane Dundas and David Collins are staying true to their namesake and going foetal.

The pair, who operate as comedy mime duo The Umbilical Bros, are attempting to polish up a night of off-the-cuff improvisation into their usual brand of first-rate puppetry, slapstick and mime.

A Kids Show (Not Suitable for Children) promises to, “uncover some new gems, and possibly find a number of unwanted turds,” through the ‘structured childishness’ the Bros have perfected since they first met in acting class in western Sydney 1988 (the incident famously resulting in Dundas’ broken nose.)

If it all sounds a bit loose, don’t worry, it’s business as usual. Says Collins, “Every single one of our shows is in constant evolution. For me, the most fun comes in the spark of the idea, when that happens. And making each other laugh. There’s nothing that’s better than that.”
