THE PARSON RED HEADS – YEARLING

THE PARSON RED HEADS – YEARLING

The Parson Red Heads, with their latest 17-track album, continue to espouse all that is flowery 70s pop. Lead singer Evan Way’s soothing voice lends itself perfectly to the increased measure of country twang in Yearling, an album saturated in mellowness – this is especially evident in Hazy Dream. However, the crux of the album lies underneath all the ornate country riffs and sober lyrics and is hinted by the American group’s subtle harmonies. Formed in their teens, The Parson Red Heads know one another and their music, and have worked to each others strengths in this latest release; all of which translate into the strong scent of familiarity that overpowers this album, to either the listener’s liking or displeasure.
