THE GROWL

THE GROWL

The Growl’s debut is a recording project spearheaded by a multitalented front-man with his fingers in various metaphorical pies – Allbrook/Avery, Pond and The Growl.

Made in a similar vein as friend and fellow musician Kevin Parker’s award winning Lonerism, the love child of Cameron Avery is gnarly, gritty and aggressive.

What Would Christ Do (which has the same acronym as “winner, winner, chicken dinner,” points out Avery) is a sensuous, visceral experience.

Avery said his biggest inspiration was visual art. “I like the idea of a song or a painting or anything that’s got an amazing concept. All I want is a good idea.”

With a string of live dates ahead, Avery says he looks forward to touring. “I’ve never been in a band like The Growl where everyone gets on so well and we all really love and respect each other’s solo projects as well. I reckon the Growl is incredible – so fun.” (SY)
