THE DARK KNIGHT
The Dark Knight continues Bruce Wayne’s battle to clean up Gotham City. Things have gotten better with Batman (Christian Bale) on the scene, but the question remains: is he a vigilante or a hero’ Enter Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), the District Attorney on a mission to stamp out corruption. And finally the Joker (Heath Ledger), psychotic bank-robber and all-round bad guy. To him, life is a cruel joke, and we’re all on the receiving end. Criticising this movie is like throwing stones at Harry Potter or The Bible. There’s just no point. Heath is dead, and his performance is going down as one of the greats. The Dark Knight is long, dark and violent, and not as good as I wanted it to be. But see it anyway. (Lachlan Jobbins)
