THE AUSTRALIAN VOICES PRESENT MOON
Fear no more, music lovers, the antithesis to today’s mainstream music slop can be found in the shape of The Australian Voices. With YouTube fame and a world tour completed, this choral music collaborative comprises of a number of talented vocal artists from all over the country, whom Artistic Director Gordon Hamilton dubs as the choir for the 21st Century.
“These are some of the best singers I have ever worked with,” he gushes. “It’s a choir that is not like any other choir. We live in the moment and use ideas that convey how the world is today.”
A performance of their fantastic work Moon is coming to City Recital Hall at Angel Place, it will combine visual aspects such as photography and physical performance with a hand-picked repertoire to illustrate a search for true love with an extra-terrestrial twist.
“Australia is ahead of the game with contemporary composition. I have chosen Australian pieces that people will love and can relate to. It’s beautiful music that is incredibly enjoyable to watch and listen to.” (CD)
