THE ADVENTURES OF ALVIN SPUTNIK
Puppets, mime, animations, live music are some of the things audiences can expect to enjoy in The Adventures of Alvin Sputnik: Deep Sea Explorer. This award-winning one-man show has been across Asia, New York, Australia and is now returning to Sydney. Set in an environmental apocalypse, this play is about recently widowed Alvin Sputnik, who has tasked himself to save humanity. The seas have risen, billions have died and the last hope for mankind is to find a place to live in the deep blue sea. This show has also been compared to the film Wall-E and is said to have some fun and funny moments for audiences to savour. Creator and performer Tim Watts had an aim to somehow acknowledge the recent environmental situation of our oceans without coming across as educational or trying to make audiences feel guilty. His goal was to make audience feel empowered and hopeful and to show that even in the bleakest of worlds we will find a way to survive. (ES)
