On a made-to-order glorious morning at Bondi Beach, in the newly refurbished Bondi Pavillion, Sydney WorldPride formally launched the program for next year’s highly anticipated festival – and it is going to be huge!

Today’s date was chosen for the launch because it marks exactly 100 days (or 99 sleeps) until the first WorldPride in the southern hemisphere – and potentially the best WorldPride ever – begins. There were lots of juicy revelations at the media event and more are in store.

The first big reveal was the beautifully presented guide. With an indigenous-inspired, silver and black embossed design on the cover and rainbow-hued edges, this booklet may well become a keep-sake. Inside, the pages are absolutely packed with events – more than 300 all up.

The next big reveal was the announcement that Charli XCX, Kelly Rowland and Jessica Mauboy will join the list of premium performers appearing at big shows during the festival. They include Kylie Minogue, Courtney Act, Casey Donovan and literally dozens of world-class artists, DJs, comedians, performers and very brilliant people.

Four new shows were also announced and further tickets have been allocated for popular events including Bondi Beach Party and the Live and Proud opening concert.

Merging with Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras festival, Sydney WorldPride will be a supernova 17 day long festival from February 17 to March 5, 2023. Featuring:

  • 68 WorldPride Arts events including 50 world premieres
  • 17 WorldPride Sports events
  • A 3-day Human Rights Conference with 34 speakers confirmed

The program is still evolving, so expect even more surprises in the coming weeks.
