SISTER

SISTER

The landscape features predominately in this beautifully shot, coming-of-age film by Ursula Meier.

12-year-old Simon (Kacey Mottet Klein) lives with his sister Louise (Léa Seydoux) in an apartment block below a mountaintop ski resort. Everyday Simon rides the chairlift to the top of the mountain, where he has resorted to stealing from rich tourists to provide for their little family, while his sister moves between jobs and boyfriends.

Also featuring a very different Gillian Anderson in a supporting role – who knew she could speak French so well?

Sister is on the slow side, but worth watching for the picturesque landscapes and panoramic shots of the snowy Swiss Alps. (VP)
