SAVE YOUR LEGS

SAVE YOUR LEGS

Brendan Cowell’s entertaining comedy, Save Your Legs, combines a gentle Aussie humour with a semi-serious look at the trials of middle age

For decades, Ted ( Stephen Curry) and his best mates, Rick (Brendan Cowell) and Stav ( Damon Gameau ) have been spending Saturdays playing cricket for the Abbotsford Anglers, but the old gang is reaching their mid 30s and stuff like babies and wives are starting to interfere. Ted arranges for the D grade cricket club to tour India in a bid to regain the good old days. The result is a series of encounters with gurus, wealthy Indian businessmen, match fixing, Bollywood, diarrhoea and drugs.

Save your Legs has an underlying warmth and humour which makes it different from other comedies. The cinematography is wonderful and conveys the colour, contrasts and fascinating corners of India beautifully.

If the first word that comes to mind when you hear the word, ‘Sachin’ is ‘Tendulkar’ , then Save Your Legs is a must see film. (LR) ***
