ROOM ON A BROOM

What happens when a witch, a cat, a dog, a bird and a frog all try to squeeze onto one broom? There becomes very little room on that broom.

From the extraordinary minds behind The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child comes a tale about friendships and working together.

“It is such a beautiful story that kids can really enjoy and relate to,” explains Crystal Hegedis. Hegedis is no stranger to the Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler stories. She has spent the last three years playing the mouse in the hugely successful Gruffalo productions.

“The witch is fabulous, kooky, sweet and a bit crazy. I thought it would be a wonderful role to play. It also intrigued me because I wanted to go back to a human body,” she says laughing.

Audiences can expect physical theatre, puppetry and an eclectic range of music varying from blues to funk.

“It really is a show for everyone,” she continues. “It’s not so much a children’s show but a family show. Parents really enjoy watching their children singing and dancing along. Also, I think the adults will really get swept up in the fantastic music and characters. It’s a lot of fun.” (ES)
