Record entries mark another successful Pyrmont Art Festival

Hundreds of locals, tourists and all-round art lovers made their way to Union Square last weekend for the second annual Pyrmont Art Festival.
With around 300 entries from both amateur and experienced artists, there was plenty on show and available for sale.
Judges Elizabeth Ann Macgregor, director of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Dr Dawn Casey, director of the Powerhouse Museum, and Dean Ian Howard from the College of Fine Arts, awarded first prize to artist David Welch for his work ‘6am Union Square’.
The People’s Choice award was given to Ann Cahill for her painting ‘Red Umbrella’.
Other popular artists included Ron Cavanagh, Amanda Seddon, Rey Juan and Eli Braga – who all won prizes on the day.
