Cheek Media CEO Hannah Ferguson To Challenge PM Albanese For His Seat
Cheek Media CEO and TikTok personality Hannah Ferguson has announced she plans to challenge Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for his home seat of Grayndler. The Forbes 30 under 30 entrepreneur took to Instagram on Monday to legitimise the already circulating rumours.
“We need more difficult people standing up and fighting,” Ferguson wrote, alluding to the PM’s controversial slandering of activist Grace Tame earlier this year. “I hope you will join me to build a campaign that genuinely serves and reflects locals – not a party line. It’s time for change.”
In an interview with Sunrise on Tuesday, Ferguson spoke to the lack of honest representation in local government.
“I feel like as a young person in Australia, I don’t feel represented at a local level by [Albenese]. I think this is an incredibly progressive electorate that demands and deserves more than a politician who is beholden to the interests of the gambling lobby and the fossil fuel industry.”

When asked to consider the difficulties of “knocking off” a Prime Minister, who won the inner-west seat in 2025 with more than 66 per cent of the two-party preferred vote, Ferguson was quick to suggest that not even the PM’s seat is safe.
“I think we only need to look at the surge of One Nation in recent months to say that there’s no safe seat in this country, and we need every elected official in this country to be treating their local community like it’s a privilege to serve them.”
Ferguson went on to criticise Albanese’s continued meeting with billionaire donors behind closed doors. This so-called “cash for access system” needs to go, Ferguson elaborated.
“I want honesty and truth brought back to politics in Australia.”
Ferguson has said she plans for Cheek Media to live on without her, her intention being to step away from the business at some point next year to campaign full-time.
