The TAP Gallery in conjunction with the Head On Photo Festival 2022 is holding a nude photography prize and exhibition. Open to all photographers at any level who feel they can capture the sensuality of the human form in its most natural state.

Sponsored by Photo-Shop Studio, the first prize for the competition is a twin speed-light lighting kit valued at over $500.  The prize will be awarded on a special presentation night at the TAP Gallery on November 19.

Photographs submitted will also form part of the Nudes on TAP exhibition on view at the gallery from November 14 to November 27.

The nude human form has been a subject of photography virtually since the camera was first invented. It was often styled to imitate its predecessors of the painted nude body, posed seductively, dramatically, or heroically.

Some of the better exponents of nude photography manage to capture more than just physicality. Their images have an ethereal beauty and an insight into the psyche of the subject.

Nude photography can capture torment as much as joy. It can distill some of the most poignantly significant aspects of being human.

There’s lots of inspiration out there. Get snapping (with permission, of course!)
