PVT – New Spirit

Throughout their career PVT have built a reputation for pushing boundaries and experimenting with electronic production techniques. With their latest record New Spirit PVT take this to the extreme.

Whilst fans of the band will certainly recognise elements of previous records here, for new listeners this may be a difficult jumping off point. During many of the tracks on New Spirit it can be incredibly difficult for new listeners to settle into a groove as PVT will suddenly and unexpectedly splash in a new element or switch up the groove entirely.

Unfortunately this record was simply not to my liking but if you’re looking to sample a few tracks before diving in head first City Hub recommends, Salt Lake Heart and the nine minute opus Morning Mist, Rock Island Bend.
