PITCH PERFECT

Freshman year at college is a trying time for anyone, especially Beca (Anna Kendrick). She’s a loner, preferring to mix music on her laptop than make actual friends. But she inadvertently finds herself in The Bellas – an a capella singing group vying to win the regional finals, along with a mixed bag of mean girls, weirdos, freaks and geeks.

Rebel Wilson is a stand-out as Fat Amy (her words, not mine), with the classic line, “I’m the best singer in Tasmania with teeth”.

Pitch Perfect is a feel-good comedy that will have you laughing and singing along (hopefully in your head – other cinema-goers may not approve) to the mash-ups of well-known cover songs, and is a great one to see with your girlfriends. (LG) ****
